  HOLA!! Just a warning this might be a long email because I couldn't express my gratitude in just a few words!! ♡  A year ago around this time I put on my tag as I began my mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! I can still remember the fear and worry that filled my mind! Every aspect of the mission terrified me, speaking another language, leaving family, leaving school and all the things that seemed right at that time! I thought I had it all planned out! I was studying at BYU ready to enter nursing school. I was comfortable and I had a plan! It seemed perfect to me but there was one little thing nagging me: the idea of serving a mission.  I tried to push that thought aside many times thinking I knew what was best! But it weighed so heavily on my mind! I began the process of praying for an answer and now looking back God was trying to tell me so many times but I just kept pushing away the answer!   Hola!!  First of all, Happy 4th of July to all the Americans out there!! 🇺🇲🇺🇲 I didn't get the chance to celebrate the 4th too much but a few members in Figueres said “feliz cuatro de Julio” or a couple people remembered that is was “America day” and congratulated me for being american I guess lol but other than that it was a pretty normal day! I did get to call my family which made the 4th so special!! I miss my fam so much but getting to call them even for 30 minutes made my day!  This has been a more challenging week for sure, things fell through, fewer amigos en la capilla but we have also seen so many miracles! We were able to find a ton of new people and they all seem so interested!  The mission is full of ups and downs but Hermana Chandía and I are pushing through!!   Hola :)) We have had a few incredible weeks here in Figueres and we are so busy! This week was especially crazy with travels to Zone conference in Barcelona and intercambios!! I felt like everyday we were busy going from one place to another.  Zone Conference was amazing and we really focused on asking in faith! Our mission president challenged us to pray more fervently to call down the powers of Heaven and I have already seen so much growth in my faith and in our amigos! This invitation reminded me of the words of President Holland when he said “My beloved friends, our prayers are our sweetest hour, our most sincere desire, our simplest, purest form of worship!” This has truly been my goal to make prayer a very sacred time with my Heavenly Father! I know that he hears and answers every one of our prayers! I am so grateful for the time I have to talk with my Father in Heaven and pray and often plead for our amigos!   Hola!! This is the start of a new transfer and we have big plans for Figueres!! I am starting my third transfer here and I still love the area and our little but strong group of members!  I am training for the second time on my mission so I now have another daughter and she is from Chile 🇨🇱 ¡¡VAMOSSS!! She is incredible; such a great missionary! Her name is Hermana Chandía and she is from Santiago Chile! My dad was so excited to hear that I was training a sister from the same area where he served his mission! God really does love to surprise us doesn't he! Training her is honestly a privilege! She is so good and has such a joy for this work and is optimistic and open to everything!  This last week President Holland and Elder Bednar came and visited my home stake to talk to all the leaders! My mom was able to go and she shared with me a little from President Holland's talk! He shared the experience of the First vision and shared how Satan could not physically harm the ...

  Holaaa  Another memorable week here in good ol’ Figueres!! We had interviews with Presidente and he loves to spill all the tea about transfers!! Unfortunately this transfer 16 missionaries are going home and we are only getting about 4 or 5 missionaries! SO that means that presidente will have to close 3 or 4 areas 😭 Please please pray for the missionaries coming to Spain that they can get their visas! He also told me that  most likely I will be training for this next transfer YAY! Baby #2 on the way!!  We also had intercambios this week and I got to serve with Hermana Baldó in Mataro! Hermana Baldó is from Venezuela and she is adorable! Her area is literally on the beach so I very much enjoyed our day doing missionary work in that beautiful area! We got to do service for this lady named Diana from England and she was so cute!!  Luis Miguel got baptized!!!! He had his baptism on Friday and it was such an amazing day!!   Hola!! Cómo están?!  Wow this was a very busy week and almost everyday this week Hermana Bäck and I found ourselves in the middle of nowhere or walking in the rain on the side of a road. OK let me explain!  We didn't have the car this week, super sad I know, so we were stuck with the Figueres bus system. Turns out it's not very good and we were dropped off at the nearest bus stop but would always have to walk 25 minutes to our lessons! Another time we had to take this bus stop and then hike on the highway to get to a noche de hogar! But a miracle happened and members pulled over on the side of the road to pick us up! They also said that we were crazy and could never do that again because it wasn't a super safe area but it's all good :)  Luis Miguel is doing so well and his baptism date is on Friday of this week so pray for him!!
