July 12, 2023 I LOVE THIS WORK!
Hola Amigos!!
I love you all so much, and I'm so grateful for all your love and support this week as I began my missionary service.
I have to be honest Sunday night (the night I was set apart) I was scared and uncertain of how I would feel as I started my missionary journey. But on the first day I couldn't deny the Spirit and its presence as I met with mi Distrito and mi compañera!
I love them all already. Mi compañera Hermana Swift is so incredible! I am so grateful for her Christlike love and eagerness to learn the Gospel! It's crazy how fast you come to love other missionaries even after meeting them in little boxes over zoom.
This is my first week of Home MTC and if you can't tell by the subject I love this work already. My average day consists of waking up, getting ready, and having my morning lesson from 7:30 to 10. Then we have an hour workshop or devotion that is absolutely incredible! Around 450 missionaries attend over zoom and the spirit is so strong. Then it's time for studies. An hour of personal study, language study, and companionship study. These three hours are incredible and I never would have imagined the love I have for studying the words of the Lord. Lastly, we have our evening class from 5 to 8. That is the average day of an online MTC missionary and I LOVE IT.
I have seen so many miracles and answers to prayer even in these three short days. I am so grateful for the power of my calling and I recognized that power daily. As I have focused on my Savior and his children, I come to love them so much more.
I want to share some of my favorite concepts I have learned already on the mission...
- we need to have faith-inspired action in our lives. Lead by faith and the Lord's power WILL follow
- Let the spirit teach YOU, and the people you teach
- Make goals and pray over them each day. So many goals have been accomplished in my life because I invite my Savior to help me reach them
- We will each experience trials of our faith. This is to make us stronger, and we are not meant to carry them alone. Yoke yourself with Christ!!
- "Leave the comfort zone so we can enter the miracle zone" (My teacher, Brother Erickson.) Make those hard decisions so you can see the miracles in your life.
- Look for the daily miracles. If we seek we shall find
- It's easier to be 100% obedient than 95%. The lord loves when we give him our all and he blesses us when we live in accordance with his standards
- Never get tired of sharing how much you love Jesus Christ. It's my FAVORITE thing to do!
I love this gospel, I love my Savior, I love all of you! More emails to come! Please email me, I love hearing from you :))
Love,
Hermana Ross
