August 16, 2023 Called to Serve in Barcelona, Spain AND...

Hola Amigos, 

I have been in the Provo MTC for four weeks now and I have one more week to go! That news is terrifying to me but I also am so excited to get out into the field! 

I got a REASSIGNMENT this week! I need a reassignment for a time until I receive my visa for Barcelona, Spain! On Friday I went down to the travel office in the MTC, told a lady my first and last name, and was handed a folded yellow sticky note. I was terrified and all the fear and uncertainty about a reassignment hit me and I didn't want to open it. My sweet companion offered a prayer and gave me words of encouragement to just read the note! Finally, I opened the sticky note and read SALT LAKE CITY WEST! 

After opening my reassignment I only felt peace. There was no fear, only joy! Some tears of shock and excitement were shed but I know I am called of God to serve a mission to ANY of God's children, not just the ones in Barcelona, Spain! I have been praying for the people of Salt Lake City and I already love them so much! 

Spanish is good! We start SYL this week where we only speak Spanish and I'm really excited! We rarely used English this week and I have definitely seen an improvement on my Spanish! 

Yesterday during our Tuesday devotional Elder Bednar spoke!!! He emphasized repentance and why it is so important in our lives. Repentance should be a healing process that can ONLY be completed through the Master Healer- Jesus Christ! It was incredible to have an apostle of the Lord in the MTC and the spirit and power he brought was undeniable! I was able to sing "Hope of Israel" with the MTC choir and there is truly power in the words of that hymn! 

Some points I loved this week….
● The Love of God is: the most desirable above all things, and most joyous to the soul (1Nephi 11:22-23) 
● Follow the safe and sure steps of the Savior (Alma 7:9) 
● We are encircled about in Christ's arms of safety (Alma 34:13) 
● All power and everything thereof comes from Jesucristo 
● There is only one pearl, it is Jesucristo! Don't set your focus on the box, notice what's inside: the pearl! - the parable of the box and the pearl by Brother Mackay MTC counselor 
● We are inspired by a better cause: the cause of Jesucristo - Sister Bednar 
● Turn to Christ, Come unto Christ, Trust in Christ (Helaman 7:17) 
● Changing behavior is NOT repentance- FAITH in Jesucristo is the center of repentance - Elder Bednar 
● Christ is the AUTHOR of our Salvation - Elder Bednar

  Well this is it, my last mission email!! Time has flown by. I can't believe my mission is coming to an end this week!  I don't want to make this too long but I just want to write a few words of gratitude! Over these 18 months I have truly been changed! I have seen miracles happen every single day and through the Lord and his work I have been so blessed! November 11, 2024: Life is a rollercoaster of JOY!

  Are you guys ready for this rollercoaster of a week!!! *Also a huge shout out to BYU GO COUGS!!! I don't think I have ever been more tired on my mission but this truly was one of the most spiritual filled weeks!! We had amazing lessons with so many progressing friends, hours of service to help those in Valencia, and so many conferencias including a visit from Elder Soares of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles!  AMIGOS  Let me brag about my friends real quick. I love them all so much and I truly find so much joy in teaching them!! Valentina and Santiago are getting ready for the wedding and we are completely the form and finalizing everything so updates to come!! This family is everything to me and I promised them that I would be back for their sealing in a year! I had intercambios with my favorite Hermana Ficklin who is half Spaniard and an icon! November 4, 2024: Prayers for Valencia

  Hola!!! These past two weeks have been crazy! There has been major flooding in Valencia and in Catarroja which was my first area here in Spain! My heart goes out to all of the people that I know and love!! Please pray for the sweet people of Valencia they need your prayers! The work here in Sabadell has been pretty normal besides all the rain which leads to plenty of canceled lessons but we are still going strong!  We have found a few new families in our area and they are progressing so well! First is Precious and here two boys! They are from Nigeria and we get to teach this sweet family in English which is quite a change for me! The first time we met with this sweet family we taught 3 Nefi 11 and they loved it! Precious started tearing up as she shared who Jesucristo was to her! One of her little boys was listening to the lesson with wide eyes fully engaged! I showed him a small painted card of Christ coming to the Americas to show him that Christ is our resurrected Savior!...
