October 16, 2023: We got the cops called on us :)
Hola Amigos,
No the caption is not clickbait we did in fact get the cops called on us by a very delightful old man. But that story will be at the end, first Milagros!!!
We have made amazing progress in this area!! We have some strong Amigos and it's so exciting to see them progress!! We don't have to look, bike or walk far to see the people the lord is preparing! It seems like he is placing those amazing people in our path and we have the privilege to teach them! But truly I have come to realize that the Lord is working day and night, harder than any missionary ever could to prune his vineyard. I'm so honored that he trusts us, "servants of the Lord [to] go forth in HIS POWER to nourish and prune his vineyard" (Jacob 6:2). He trusts us with his divine hijos y hijas and I will do everything in mine and HIS power to bring them safely home.
We have had a couple freezing cold days here. Biking in the freezing rain is not my favorite thing to do, but even on days where our hands and faces are frozen we see milagros! We were able to have incredible lessons! One was with our Amiga Beatriz and we taught her about La importancia y poder del Libro de Mormón! Beatriz has the best questions and you can tell she loves learning and feeling the power in this message!
We had two amigos come to church yesterday and that is truly the best milagro of all! You can truly feel the peace and love in the church and it's amazing that our friends recognize these feelings!
Now for the super fun experience we had on Friday! We were doing a Blitz with our District in our area so we had a bunch of Missionaries around this apartment complex. On our last door we knocked and this super mean old man opened and asked "what do you want" we introduced ourselves and he shouted no and slammed the door in our face! A super pleasant fellow. My compañera y Yo turned to leave but as we did so he opened the door once more and proceeded to tell us that we were trespassing on his private property! He used some very harsh profanity between each couple of words as we proceeded to leave the complex. As we are walking away I can see that this man is following us out to the parking lot. We proceeds to cuss and yell at us to get off the parking lot property but we have to wait for the other missionaries to leave. So we stand there for five minutes while this man is on the phone with the cops. Eventually we left and the cops never came and the man never stopped cursing as we left the parking lot. Super fun experience and we had to go to the mission office and report everything to our mission presidents. It was a three hour delema PERO I would leave you on a low note! Here is a quote from Elder Holland that I have loved!
"When He says to the poor in spirit, “Come unto me,” He means He knows the way out and He knows the way up. He knows it because He has walked it. He knows the way because He is the way!" -Broken things to mend
Jesucristo is the answer, he is the way, the ONLY true lasting way and his way is perfect. This Gospel changes lives and it has forever changed me ♡
Love, Hermana Ross
