December 4, 2023: You can ALWAYS count on old men

 Hola :))

This week has been beyond busy but that is exactly what we want as missionaries! Last Monday we started the week off with an incredible lesson with three new amigos!! Glenda, Hugo, and Christopher have been coming to church the past two weeks and they wanted to learn more about our gospel! We had a member from our ward come and share their testimony about the Book of Mormon and the Spirit was incredibly strong! The members here are incredible and are so devoted to missionary work!

Maria is my favorite person literally ever she has the strongest spirit and such a desire to learn more! Saturday we taught her and her two children El Plan de Salvación and she LOVED IT! She told us that for two weeks she was praying for answers because she felt so lost. Then Hermana Peterson and I showed up at her doorstep to teach her and she just knew that God is aware of her! We were able to give her a Book of Mormon with our testimonies written inside and she was overjoyed! This book has changed my life so to see others enjoy these remarkable gifts is priceless!! My favorite thing about Maria is every lesson we have with her, she pulls out a notebook and takes notes on every part of the lesson! Any scripture we share, and every topic we cover, she writes it down! It is incredible how ready she was for this message!

This week we had a member meal with Manoli who is a member that my sister knew during her time in Catarroja! It is so fun to meet amigos that she taught and members that she worked with while serving here!

The reason for my email title is because every day this week my companion and I start our street contacting and without fail a scary old man will come up to us and say “que guapas” So yeah that's super fun for us!! It doesn't matter the time of day or where we are we always have these interesting experiences! I mean it's super nice that some people want to talk to us but we just want to talk about the gospel! The old men here also always respond to us as we pass them on the street and most of them are super nice! So yeah the old men always have our backs!

We got to go to Barcelona for a very quick two days!! My Companion was getting her residency card super fun so we were able to tour Barcelona a bit! I saw the Sagrada Familia of course and met some of my companions' old miembros!!

This week I have reflexed about Christ and how grateful I am to share his perfect message! It is so simple and so perfect and he knows each of us! Being a missionary is the most incredible experience and I have grown so much because of Christ and his Atonement! Henry B Erying shared that Christ “called us and trusted us even in the weaknesses He knew we had. He knew the trials we would face. By faithful service and through His Atonement, we can come to want what He wants and be what we must be to bless those we serve for Him. As we serve Him long enough and with diligence, we will be changed. We can become ever more like Him”

I know this to be true and I have been truly blessed to see the fruits of this work! There is no greater joy than sharing this message with others and having them experience this same eternal joy!

Love, Hermana Ross ♡
