February 12, 2024: I have a Daughter!!
SURPRISE!! I am training this transfer!! Which means I now have a daughter on the mission and she is amazing! Not only that but I get to train with Hermana León so we are training Hermana Jones together (in a trio) and it has been such a blessing!
When I started my mission I was trained in a trio by Hermana Gonzalez and Hermana Edwards (shout out to the best moms in the world♡) So now that I get to train in a trio it's like things have come full circle! Hermana Jones is from Utah and already has such a love for the work! The two areas in Catarroja are now combined into one so we are taking over a huge area! This means a ton more amigos and a ton more work to do. This change has been stressful for sure but I feel like I have grown during these first 3 days of the transfer!
This week felt like a whirlwind! I had to say bye to Hermana Peterson who I miss so so much! She was such an incredible first compañera here in Spain and I'm so grateful for everything she taught me!!
Luz and Siskatl are progressing super well and Siskatl still has her baptismal fecha for the 25th of February so please keep praying for this sweet family! Now that the areas are combined I'm trying to learn all the names and backgrounds of all our friends because now we have so many! But I love it so much and I am so much happier when we are busy and completely immersed in the work!
To end on a little spiritual thought I listened to a talk titled “Walking in a Covenant Relationship with Christ” by Sister Freeman! It is a talk that I absolutely love and have read a few times during my mission. She explained “Jesus Christ will meet us where we are as we are. This is the why of the garden, the cross, and the tomb. The Savior was sent to help us overcome. But staying where we are won’t bring the deliverance we seek. Just as He didn’t leave Jacob there in the dirt, the Lord doesn’t intend to leave any of us where we are.”
This is exactly how I have felt during my mission! Jesus Christ wants me to grow, and he will never leave us where we are at. He knows our potential and what we can become! I have seen this pattern in all of our amigos and even more in myself! When we yoke ourselves with Christ we will be able to overcome obstacles and challenges we never thought possible! He will ALWAYS push us to grow and be better! Yes it's exhausting and not always comfortable but we are so much better and stronger when we grow with our Savior! He has overcome all so that we could too! He truly is our best friend and he will always be cheering us on as we continue to learn and grow!
I'm so grateful for all the amazing examples I have in my life and the chance I get to share my experiences on the mission! Love you all so much, have a wonderful week!
Love, Hermana Ross ♡
