May 27, 2024: Jorge Making History

 Hola!!


Well Jorge did it! He was baptized this last week and things have never been better here in Figueres! It was the first baptism we have had since starting the group in Figueres and we couldn't be happier to see the growth of this sweet group of Saints! 

A funny story about Jorge's baptism: he wanted to be under the water for like a minute. So the week before we made sure he understood the importance of a proper baptism and that there was no need to be under the water for that long! We worked him down from a minute to 30 seconds to later 5 seconds. He wanted to be able to really soak in his baptism and say a prayer of gratitude while under the water. Super sweet and tender lol! A huge thanks to Cesar for holding him under the water a little extra long and making it such a perfect and spirit filled experience! Definitely a baptism I will never forget!! 

I'm loving life here in Figueres! My allergies are trying to kill me but thankfully God blessed me with benadryl so all is well!! 

A little update on our amigos: Ana, our friend who lives in Honduras, made it to Spain today so now we can start teaching her in person!! Luis Miguel is also on date for baptism for the 7th of June!!! He has been investigating the church for a VERY long time and just this week told us he is ready and God gave him his answer! Truly the timing of the Lord is perfect and we are so happy that he is taking this step of faith!! 

My district leader sent us a quote this week that I loved and I wanted to share with you all!! 

No virtue can grow in the absence of its opposite.
Courage can’t develop if there’s nothing to fear.
Patience can’t be cultivated unless we face frustration.
Peacemakers can’t exist unless there is contention.
Virtue can’t develop unless we face and resist temptation.
We can’t exercise faith unless we have reason to doubt.
We can’t prove loyalty without turning down enticing alternatives.
Charity means nothing if we have no enemies to extend it to

I know that through opposition we can grow!! I'm so grateful that we are here to learn and grow and become more like our Savior!!

  Well this is it, my last mission email!! Time has flown by. I can't believe my mission is coming to an end this week!  I don't want to make this too long but I just want to write a few words of gratitude! Over these 18 months I have truly been changed! November 11, 2024: Life is a rollercoaster of JOY!

  Are you guys ready for this rollercoaster of a week!!! *Also a huge shout out to BYU GO COUGS!!! I don't think I have ever been more tired on my mission but this truly was one of the most spiritual filled weeks!! We had amazing lessons with so many progressing friends, hours of service to help those in Valencia, and so many conferencias including a visit from Elder Soares of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles!  AMIGOS  Let me brag about my friends real quick. I love them all so much and I truly find so much joy in teaching them!! Valentina and Santiago are getting ready for the wedding and we are completely the form and finalizing everything so updates to come!! This family is everything to me and I promised them that I would be back for their sealing in a year! I had intercambios with my favorite Hermana Ficklin who is half Spaniard and an icon! November 4, 2024: Prayers for Valencia

  Hola!!! These past two weeks have been crazy! There has been major flooding in Valencia and in Catarroja which was my first area here in Spain! My heart goes out to all of the people that I know and love!! Please pray for the sweet people of Valencia they need your prayers! The work here in Sabadell has been pretty normal besides all the rain which leads to plenty of canceled lessons but we are still going strong!  We have found a few new families in our area and they are progressing so well! First is Precious and here two boys! They are from Nigeria and we get to teach this sweet family in English which is quite a change for me! The first time we met with this sweet family we taught 3 Nefi 11 and they loved it! Precious started tearing up as she shared who Jesucristo was to her! One of her little boys was listening to the lesson with wide eyes fully engaged! I showed him a small painted card of Christ coming to the Americas to show him that Christ is our resurrected Savior!...
