May 6, 2024: Rainy Days and Milagros

 HOLA

How is everyone?? This week was so amazing like every other week! But as a missionary truly every week is so incredible we are seeing miracle after miracle here in Figueres! It has been raining almost everyday this week which always makes the work a bit harder pero no passa res :)

Like I mentioned last week we are working with a ton of part member familes/menos activos and seeing so much success! The Family Morales are doing so well and we are going to go over this week to teach about the plan of Salvation!

We also have been meeting with Carla who is a menos activa that was baptized in Bolivia five years ago. We went over this week and to our surprise met her eight year old brother who knows about the church from his sister but isn't baptized! We showed Carla and her brother a Bible video of Christ giving the last supper to his disciples and he LOVED it! We talked about the importance of the Sacrament and how it is a time to reflect on Christ and his Atonement! Carla and her brother both shared the sweetest insights and testimonies! We invited them to start coming back to church and even though they had to leave at 6:45am to catch the bus and travel to Figueres for the Sacrament meeting at 10am they were both so willing and excited to come!!

Another huge miracle we saw this week come from a street contact that we had made earlier in the week! We talked with a lady named Susanna and her son on the street and invited them to come to church! I thought it would be like every street contact where they say yes and give us their number so we leave faster but this time it was different!! God truly blessed us with a miracle! She came to church on Sunday with her hijo, esposo y sobrino! They all loved the testimony meeting and Susanna was sharing her thoughts and testimony during second hour! Literally so many golden families this week we are so excited for the work here!

This week my dad asked me to share an experience from the mission in a talk he had to give on Sunday! I asked him to send me the talk so I could read it and it really focused on the Atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ. My dad shared

“It is one thing to know that Jesus Christ came to earth to die for us—that is fundamental and foundational to the doctrine of Christ. But we also need to appreciate that the Lord desires, through His Atonement and by the power of the Holy Ghost, to live in us—not only to direct us but also to empower us. Individual willpower, personal determination and motivation, effective planning and goal setting are necessary but ultimately insufficient for us to triumphantly complete this mortal journey. Truly, we must come to rely upon “the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah”

I am striving to learn this everyday! As a missionary we teach about the gift of repentance and the cleansing power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ but sometimes I forget it includes me!! Truly I have seen that if we turn our lives over to our Savior he will empower us and lift us! We can do all we can do but we NEED our Savior Jesus Christ and his grace! I am so grateful for the hundreds of chances I have been given to repent and start fresh! I testify that He loves you! You are never too far from the love of our Savior and Redeemer!

I love you all so much! Keep trusting in the Lord and his power! Thanks for all your prayers and support ❤️

Love, Hermana Ross ♡
